Another Linux marketing droid who doesn't understand that this is a
Windows group and no one gives a crap about Linux or "free software".

Well, say whatever you wish but you should know that you and your friends
are doing a "negative" campaign here. I don't remember when was the last
time that a negative campaign actually worked.

But I offer you and your friends an opportunity. The following is a
comment By WALTER S. MOSSBERG, Wall Street Journal, April 26, 2007.

Q: You often mention the Macintosh as an alternative to Windows, why don't
you recommend the Linux operating system?

A: I aim my columns at mainstream users doing typical tasks who have little
or no technical knowledge, no help from experts, and no appetite for
becoming techies. These folks want the computer to do things for them. They
don't want to have to do much, if any, configuring of, or maintaining of,
their computers. They have no patience for geeky procedures. For instance,
when they buy a peripheral device, they expect to plug it in and find that
it works, often without even installing the CD from the box. I don't believe
Linux is yet simple enough and automatic enough and nontechnical enough for
these mainstream users. So I don't recommend it. I firmly believe that the
Macintosh does meet these criteria, and so I consider it the only practical
alternative to Windows for mainstream, nontechie users.

His comments are viewed and taken by a large number of executives around the
world and if you
guys can convince him, you would have a better chance.

His email address: mossberg@wsj.com

So any of you are brave enough, go troll him.

End of my conversation with anyone associated with Linux advocacy.

Not true. Many frustrated Vista users who post here are looking for
viable alternatives and I am happy to provide them with a public
service. Personally, I found out about Ubuntu on the Windows XP
newsgroup and am quite thankful I did.

Now, be a good little boy and run on and help Vista users instead of
revealing your ignorance and prejudice.

The only viable alternative to Windows is OS X. It is actually gaining
market share. Unlike Linux, which is still in the 0.5% range after 15
years of "free" software.

Now go run along and play in the Linux groups with the other script
kiddies.

Obviously the man has never used Ubuntu, regardless of who he is.
Devices are easier with Ubuntu than Windows, much easier. *Everything*
is updated with the Ubuntu update, including programs such as Open
Office and Fire Fox. Much simpler than Windows. There are no Spybot,
Ad-Aware, Spywareblaster, anti virus programs, Java, Flash, etc. to
daily check for updates. Ubuntu is much more user friendly than Windows.
Course, neither you nor your copy and paste have used Ubuntu but that
won't stop you from snootily referring to us like the KKK refers to afro
Americans.

I don't write scripts and, at my age, being called a "kiddie" is a
compliment.

Alias

Give it up already Linux and Ubuntu is crap on the desktop and over 98% of
the world knows it.
Those numbers have not made any significant changes in the last 10 years.
So go play with your other Linux droids.

Ubuntu is not crap on my desktop, so you might want to temper your urge
to speak for everyone. The safer statement might be that the majority of
the 98% that you speak of do not know of the linux alternative.

Ya less the 1% can't be wrong. Use your 19th century Ubuntu. Anyone who
needs to do more then brows the internet and wave the Ubuntu flag in windows
newsgroups is going to need a real OS like windows to do real day to day
work.

The inevitable insult from someone jealous because he paid an arm and a

I've been working with computer system long before you knew what a computer
was.
I've been playing with different versions of Linux and Ubuntu since it first
came out.
Its still a toy for a desktop OS always has been always will be. There has
been no significant changes in years and you know it.
