I wouldn't even say that if they paid people to install it!

Its funny that back when xp was the main MS OS, windows users used
to make fun of linux since was incompatible with hardware and software.

Now with vista windows is incompatible with hardware and software too! What
do they have to say now?

And another thing top stupid excuse I have heard about vista
"When xp was first released it had bugs too, therefore it is ok that vista
is crap"

FALSE: XP never had so many problems..it worked fantastic right out of the
box. I can still install XP with no service packs on a computer and it will
run great. The service packs were more of security patches for threats that
were created after xp was released. XP was never crap.. and people embraced
it right away.
This is NOT happening with vista.... Vista is more of a joke among IT people
now....

It took 5 years to make vista.. it should have been almost perfect...
not this repulsive badly written OS. There are no excuses.... MS should go
out of business if they plan on producing such products.
Let them make Xboxes and Zunes and let other more serious people make OS's.

"When xp was first released it had bugs too, therefore it is ok that vista
is crap"

your mis informed young in XP had tons of problems when it first came out no
it professionals wanted to upgrade to it at all driver issues up the crapper

XP worked out of the box for some, but not all.. printers, keyboards,
scanners, modems, video cards all fell by the wayside..

Some older programs worked with XP and some didn't.. support was withdrawn
for older stuff by manufacturers just as it is now..

Vista also works for some out of the box, and again it all depends on the
mix of hardware and software..

XP needed the service packs, just as Vista will..

There has never been any release of software that didn't have bugs and
didn't need fixing at some point..

XP required more of everything over and above its Win 9x cousins just as
Vista requires more than XP..

Some things never change..

Even some Linux distros appear almost every six months in revised form, and
the present Ubuntu Feisty Fawn has more than 70 updates waiting in the wings
to be installed by the user..

Maybe software should not have bugs when released, but there are so many
permutations of hardware software in the pc world, it is inconceivable that
any one company could test them all

Mac OS also has to be updated now and again even though the OS is written
specifically for Mac hardware that can't be changed by the user..

You would spend your time better by asking how to overcome problems rather
than just ranting and getting nowhere..

Hmmm. The poster is using an ms product.
x-newsreader: Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16480
You might not like the comment(s) he made, but windows mail is not an
open source product.

Ho Hum...
Same old Same old.
Some People don't remember all the gripping that came with Win2K either
when NT4 Apps stopped working either.

If you don't like Vista, don't run it.

But you need to face the reality that at then end of 2008 there will be
no more WinXP support other than super major critical problems other
than the paid support as for Win2K. It will be at the end of the MS
standard of a 5 year lifecycle.

As if I didn't know?
Read my post again norm, I'm saying he's lost.
Got it?

As a beta tester of W2K and XP, all I can say is you are totally clueless. I
recall very well the problems XP had on release. But keep wearing your rose
coloured glasses... I won't say Vista is perfect but I'm having hardly any
problems now that all my hardware has drivers, it certainly more stable now
than XP at least for me. I finally took off my dual boot and deleted XP a
month or so ago.

Ah, so if someone that uses ms products isn't happy with them, and has
the temerity to complain (even if the complaint isn't what you would
consider a valid complaint) you tell them to use linux? Are you sure you
are not alias in disguise?

Funny, I've been running Vista for the past three weeks and have had NO
problems with it. It runs all of my old programs (WK2) and it is very
fast. I tried Ubuntu previously, but, it didn't quite live up to my
expectations, so I deleted it. I'm keeping with Vista for the
foreseeable future.

Even though Ubuntu is FREE I wouldn't tell people to install it

BECAUSE IT SUCKS

No, he has yet to "graduate" from grammar school. But he's working on it.
Eventually he'll make it.

Yes, but Frankie posts with an "open sores" program. Guess he's never
figured out how to use Vista's Outhouse Express?
