Why is my AirPods audio muffled/low quality and how do I fix this?

Hello,So the other day I found out why my AirPods 4th Gen were not fully working with my Windows 11 laptop because it only supports up to bluetooth 5.2, while the AirPods 4 are 5.3. However, I bought a bluetooth 5.3 adaptor to solve this issue and the original issues with the AirPods are now fixed, but the audio coming from them are very low quality. Would anyone happen to know how to fix this? Thank you so much and I look forward to receiving support.
