why can’t i sign in even though i’ve reset my password?

I’ve been trying to log into my laptop but it just says “that password is incorrect. make sure you’re using the password for your microsoft account. you can always resit it at account.live.com/password/reset.” i’ve reset my password a couple times now but it still says the same thing. please could someone assist me with this?
