Updated valid windows 7 to windows 10 - key did not get updated

Hi, I recently updated my mom's computer from Win7 to Win10 by downloading it and installing it. Where you pick if you want to keep the files and programs, I did keep both. Her windows installation got correctly converted to Windows 10, no problem.I then decided to do the same with my own 2nd computer that was still on Win7, but this time I did not need to keep the files and programs so I did not. But now Windows 10 is telling me it's not activated even though I had a valid Win7 key before doing the upgrade. I still have the CD with the key sticker, but windows refuse to use it. ''0x803FA067'
