For those who are unfamiliar with the Rules of Conduct for the
Microsoft Newsgroups, here's your opportunity to learn the rules
of expected, acceptable, and mature behavior when posting.

Rules of conduct:

We hope that you find the time you spend in Microsoft's Community Web sites
to be useful and fun. To ensure that everyone has the best possible
experience, we've established a few guidelines. Please take a moment to read
them, and thank you for participating in a Microsoft Community.

Expectations of service:

Microsoft's Role:

Microsoft does not offer formal support for the
communities you'll find here. Instead, our role is to provide a platform for
people who want to take advantage of the global community of Microsoft
customers and product experts. Microsoft may monitor content to ensure the
accuracy of the information you'll find, but any information provided by
Microsoft staff is offered "AS IS" with no warranties, and no rights are
conferred. You assume all risk for your use.

Microsoft MVPs:

Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) volunteer
technical answers and expertise in many Microsoft Community Web sites.
Microsoft MVPs come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions. All
share a willingness to give their time, expertise, and advice to enhance the
technical skills of others. MVPs are not Microsoft employees and Microsoft
has no expectations of MVPs beyond the expectations of courtesy,
professionalism, and adherence to the Community rules that we ask of all
Microsoft community members. For more information on the MVP program and how
you can become an MVP, see http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/.

Rules of conduct:

Appropriate Language:

The purpose of our communities is to exchange
technical information and expertise about Microsoft products. Please avoid
personal attacks, slurs, and profanity in your interactions.

Relevance to Topics:

Please make sure that your postings in discussion
groups and chats are relevant to the subject at hand. It is normal for some
topics to drift from the stated subject. However, to ensure maximum benefit
for everyone, we encourage you to keep your postings as close to the subject
as possible.

Advertising/Solicitation:

These communities were created as a forum for
providing peer-to-peer assistance on Microsoft products and services. We ask
that you refrain from posting advertisements or solicitations that do not
pertain directly to the intended use and purpose of the newsgroup or chat.

Confidentiality:

Please keep in mind that our communities are public spaces,
so don't post anything that you don't want the world to see. Credit card
numbers, product keys, and other confidential information, including anything
covered under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), should not be posted to a
discussion group, chat, or other community.

You could eliminate 90% of the traffic in this NG by enforcing this
particular rule.

One problem: it can't be enforced and only applies to Microsoft's web
interface. Why Carey Copy and Paste Frisch is posting this every day is
beyond comprehension, other than he wants to make sure everyone knows
what a dork he is.

Say Carey you raving lunatic, did somebody give you a new whistle so
you can pretend to be the newsgroup net cop? How precious.

You need to re-read the part where it says "about Microsoft products."
Did you get that part? ..."about Microsoft products."
Not about linux distros.
Got it? You do understand that you are a linux spamming troll don't you?

Please avoid
> personal attacks, slurs, and profanity in your interactions."

Did you read that part too? Remember, you are the instigator. You are
the one who attacks others family members. You do remember doing that
don't you? Or do you want me to re-post your personal vile attacks on my
family members, huh?
You are without a doubt the most arrogrant, selfish, vile POS for a
human being I've ever come accross.
You don't care about anyone except yourself.
Now try lying your way out of those truths.

Carey,
Thank you for your post. It is obvious that that some posters should be
reminded of the Rules of Conduct. Unfortunately I do not think that your
post will really register with these people.

You didn't really have to reconfirm it, we already know you're a idiot
every bit as much as your good buddy Frank. I guess you needed to
drive that point home.

You're at best a simpleton. You really have no concept of what I'm
talking about when I said the majority of people posting to this
newsgroup and reading posts here do NOT access this newsgroup from
Microsoft news servers. So most everyone sees every post I and
everyone else makes. Sorry that's simply too hard for you to follow.

Nor is it applicable to Usenet. It only applies if you use Microsoft's
clunky web site to access these groups.

Nope, you're both wrong. Your post was boring, Frank. Same old same old
garbage.

Adam, think about it for a minute:

ALL posts on Microsoft's Usenet server are served by MICROSOFT, not
someone else.

IF you access one of these newsgroups using say "APN", from Forte, or
Google, or whatever, you are seeing a MIRRORED copy of the ORIGINALS,
which are ON MICROSOFT'S Usenet SERVER, "msnews.microsoft.com".

You appear to be confusing a NEWSREADER with the SERVER itself.
NEWSREADER software, such as the Microsoft Community web interface,
are nothing but CLIENTS of the Usenet, NOT the Usenet itself (which is
a collection of various SERVERS, some free, some premium, all using
the same Network protocols).

PLEASE, Adam, STOP making a fool of yourself.
For a person with "extensive experience", you know LITTLE about the
Usenet, I'm afraid.

By the way, Microsoft's Usenet rules are pretty-much the EXACT same
rules most OTHER Usenet servers give their users.

The Usenet itself has a few CONVENTIONS (not rules), such as
bottom-posting versus top-posting, etc.

The SERVERS themselves are the ones with the RULES, not the Usenet.

Tell us, oh "Mighty Internet Maven":
WHERE do our posts wind up, anyway? Somewhere out on the "Internet",
there in "cyberspace"? You know, just floating around in the
"cloud"?

How did they get onto the Usenet? By snail-mail?

I suggest you consider this:

1) ALL Microsoft Community groups are served by a USENET server,
"msnews.microsoft.com".
2) Whether one uses the Web interface to access them, or a stand-alone
Usenet client like Forte's Agent, they are STILL being posted to and
stored on the SAME USENET server, "msnews.microsoft.com".
3) If you use a Usenet server OTHER that the Microsoft Usenet server,
"msnews.microsoft.com", you are NOT accessing the ORIGINAL posts, but
MIRRORED copies of the originals, which are stored on Microsoft's OWN
Usenet Server, "msnews.microsoft.com".

Don't like this, friend?
Tough. That's just the way it is. We don't make the rules, "alias".

I understand your concern about Microsoft Vista and the issues related to
it. I understand what you say regarding the development of Vista and I
agree that there are lots of issues. Microsoft did release Vista before
most of the bugs have been fixed.

Yes there are problems, but you are a pompus ass who thinks you are better
than everyone else just cause you got burned with Vista.

Now go back to your world where the planets circle your pointly head.
Better yet, go move to Spain and hang out with Alias and the other Ubuntu
misfits.
