Partitioning the C drive

David is exactly right- EPM will create a new partition or resize an

existing partition on a drive whether there is an OS already installed or

not. The home edition has a few restrictions (can't create a boot CD, and

won't work on 64-bit Windows 7), but I've used it a few times on XP and 7

machines with no problems whatsoever.

And I just used it to shrink the 'Dell partition' and increase the 'C' drive

on my new laptop drive on which Acronis had cloned the old drive partitions

proportionately, though the hidden one did not need to be increased in size.
