Nope, did not help me at all. Same damned error. And Microsoft thinks we
will buy VISTA!

I have a similar, but slightly different problem. I successfully
installed the security update for Version 1.1 Service Pack 1. The
update installs and gives me the message "You have successfully updated
your computer," and the installation icon disappears. However, about
five minutes later the icon reappears with the note, "Updates are ready
for your computer. Click hear to install these updates." When I click,
it is again the security update for Version 1.1 Service Pack 1. I have
installed it about 10 times, but the icon still reappears. I have
rebooted and the problem still exists. I tried to uninstall 1.1, but
like Stu, although it is listed in my add/remove programs, I get an
error message that states, "The installation source for this product is
not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access
it."

If you're 100% certain you've installed the update (it will be listed in
Add/Remove Programs)...

1. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and do a Custom scan.

2. Uncheck the update in question and accept the "Don't show this update
again" prompt to hide it.
