KB943899, vista not booting

I have a P5N-E SLI as well. Installed a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium. All
was well until this update and a few other Nvidia SATA updates popped up in
WU. After update installation and a reboot I get a blue screen and all F8
booting attempts have failed. Windows refuses to restore to previous point
since there is no point to restore to. Looks like I'll be reinstalling only
this time I'll be avoiding the Nvidia SATA and network updates. Not too sure
which one killed my system but I'm not chancing another blue screen.

I'm not sure that driver updates get undone that way anyway.

WU is not the best newsgroup to try to resolve this in
but FWIW I think you should be able to boot some kind
of command console, fix the problem and then recover your OS.
A related alternative would be booting with options which say
that you only want to use VGA mode. You might even already
have that option available in your boot list. Etc.

Cross-posting to a Vista NG...

Good luck

I am also having blue screens after installing an update. Does Microsoft read
these forums? Startup Repair, System Restore, and Memory Diagnostic Tool all
don't fix the problem. HELP! I do backup my work, but I didn't backup the new
work yet. I am going to look for some place where I can contact Microsoft
directly. It is this serious.
