I received an email supposedly from Microsoft stating that I requested a one-time-code. I did not request this.

I received an email supposedly from Microsoft stating that I requested a one-time-code. I did not make any such request. I changed my password then within an hour, received the same email. And then another one hours later. Is this a scam attempt? Email looks very authentic. When I look in my account at recent activity however, there are no sign ins. I am confused what is happening here.
