You shouldn't offer help if you don't know what you're talking about.

Listen (or read) and learn. Better to keep your mouth shut and be

thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Hey Brainynot, just for you!

The space that the hibernation file requires is directly related to the

amount of RAM that is in the computer. If you add more RAM, the Hiberfil.sys

file must grow to match the total RAM. Adding more RAM also automatically

increases the size of the Pagefile.sys file, which by default is 1.5 times

the amount of RAM. Adding 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM increases the

Pagefile.sys file by 384 MB.

If the Hiberfil.sys file grows by 256 MB and the Pagefile.sys file grows by

384 MB, the free space on the hard disk shrinks by 640 MB. There must still

be at least 740 MB of free space to allow hibernation.

If you cannot unstand get your MOTHER to explain it to you.

The Bird to you!

Let's not lose sight of your original ignorant statements. You said that

"...memory use" is "doubled with each hibernation." Wrong. Memory use is

not affected. You also said, "Hibernation makes a mirror image of your

drive." Wrong again. It copies the contents of RAM, along with some

additional data, to hiberfil.sys. No drive image is made.

With this latest post you stick your finger in it again by saying that

the page file size automatically increases when RAM is added. Wrong.

Page file size won't increase until (a) it's done by the user, or (b)

the OS determines that the present size is inadequate. This will not

occur just because the amount of RAM has increased. In fact, adding RAM

makes it *less* likely that increased page file size will be needed.

What you lose with hibernation is some disk space, and with the current

common sizes of hard drives, the amount used is generally negligible.

Being in the habit of constantly hibernating and not doing a full OS

shutdown at least periodically can lead to issues because the

"housekeeping" normally done at shutdown isn't getting done.

Read this, it is very simplistic, you should be able to understand its

meaning, read the paragraph, Hibernation!

IM'N DONE WITH YOUR DUMB ASS!

There is nothing in the linked article that contradicts anything I've

said. I think where your reading comprehension is letting you down might

be where the author says "Hibernation writes a complete image of your

computer's RAM memory to the hard drive..." Aside from the pleonasm

"RAM memory," this means that (as I said earlier) hibernation involves

writing the contents of RAM to the hard drive (an "image" of *RAM* is

made). *You* said that a mirror image of the *hard drive* is made.

The fact that you can't be cured of your ignorance (lack of knowledge)

means that you're stupid. That's an incurable condition, I'm afraid.

I may be stupid but you are a lier, not to say MF, you would make a point if

I cared one bit, the fact is you have been played. Now go touch yourself.

And I ask? Who is stupid here, you go to lenths to make a point over

nothing, do something contructive today, like get yourself a life, you

really have too much time on your hands, use your left!

Still playing stupid I see. Well-----you're winning. You are like the guy

walking down the street near a

building and see a sign that says "Ring Bell For Night Watchman" and you

ring it.

When the watchman appears you ask "Why can't you ring it yourself".
