Folders on my USB gone and files with symbols appeared

I plugged in my USB into my PC and when I opened it I saw files with symbols along with my folders, with the created date of 2042 or 2044.I didn't know what they were so I ran an antivirus to check whether they were virus or not but the antivirus said that the USB had no virus in it. I tried to delete the files but it said "The file name you specified is not valid or too long. I thought of formatting the drive so I tried copying my files and paste them in my PC disk but the antivirus blocked it.
