Computer shuts down instead of entering sleep mode

This seems to have been brought about by the most recent update. The computer is set to shut the monitor off after 3 minutes and go to sleep after 10, but instead of going to sleep it shuts down. This may be related to the "best power efficiency" setting, but that's been 6/6 since I got this computer, did they change some criteria on that??
