Can I get my Icloud photo folders onto my Windows Photo app?

I've recently switched from a Mac to a Windows laptop. The Photo app successfully syncs with my icloud photos but they are no longer in folders- just one massive dump of 30,000 photos, sorted only by year. I had them all organised- please tell me I don't have to recreate new folders?
