"Your PIN is required to sign in" after many times of using Fingerprint sign in options

I tried logging in with my fingerprint on my HP elitebook 840 g6 laptop, I still choose fingerprint or PIN option. But now when I try to unlock my lockscreen using fingerprint, it's not working, instead the message "Your PIN is required to sign in" is shown on the screen. but I forget my PIN. how can access my laptop without losing my files?
