WriteProtect policy is not working as expected on Windows 11/10

I followed the advice to change the registry. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies" and ensured the "WriteProtect" value is set to "1"I then insert my CompactFlash drive after double checking the value was set. Unfortunately, I can still copy and delete items from the device. I know this used to work to properly prevent any write activity. I tested on 3 separate computers and all are failing. System InformationEdition Windows 11 Enterprise Version 24H2 Installed on ‎12/‎6/‎2024 OS build 26100.2605 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0
