Wireless Mouse 5000 - Blue LED light but won't connect to USB dongle.

My Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000, has power I see the blue light but it will not connect to the usb dongle. The keyboard connects. I have tried to use a different computer, changed batteries, and check device manager.
