Since the last automatic update in July I have been unable to chech the
Windows Update website for History. I keep getting this message"To work with
thiswebsite you must download and install the latest version of some Windows
Updating Software that is designed to work with the website" I then press the
download button and it appears to download but nothing happens. It then tells
me that the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page I
am trying to view Error Ox80070020. I disabled my AVAST antivirus and enabled
Active X and Pop ups and tried again to no avail. I wanted to check History
because the July updates took such a long time to install and I knew there
was something wrong. Can Anyone help please

Hi Lizzie,

If you are running Spybot and Zone Alarm, turn both off, and temporarily
turn on your Windows firewall. Then go to the Windows Update site and try to
update the software.

I had a similar problem at the end of June and by temporarily turning off ZA
and Spybot -- including its Tea Timer feature -- I was successful in
installing the latest software that the Windows Update site requires.

Once I updated the Microsoft software I re-enabled Zone Alarm and Spybot
and now can reach the webpage without any problems.
