Windows !! updates failing

My PC is caught in an endless cycle where it fails to apply updates. I have found posts indicating that I run the troubleshooter, which I have, and yet the updates fail. In addition, I have tried the DISM tools and run sfc /scannow; and updates are still failing. This morning, I tried to perform a Win11 install in place and after the process completed, it indicated the install failed. I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.
