Need Help with non working "Windows Updater".

Upgrade from “Windows XP pro (32 bit)” to “Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade” disc (32bit) in June 2014 . All worked fined - just slow because old computer.

In November 2015, Microsoft sentout new updates. One "Update" was corrupt and cause my computer to crash every day. Could not fix file. I reinstalled “Windows XP” follow by “Window 7” upgrade disc. Did this 4 times. The problem is that the "Windows Updater" will not work – “auto” or “manual”. I need the updates to protect my computer and also my Kaspersky "Safe Money" will not work without them.

Steps taken to fix the problem:

1 - Ran "Windows Fix-it" = no luck. Fixed some errors but not all.

2 - Ran "Windows Update Troubleshooting" program = no luck. Fixed some errors but not all.

3 - Texted "Microsoft Rep". Ran: "How do I reset Windows Update Components?" Ran "Normal Mode": steps = 1,2,3,4 skipped, 5 ,6,7,8,9. When I ran "Aggressive Mode" using step 4 - computer did not worked correctly had to reinstalled Windows XP & Windows 7 again.

In both modes: received error notice that some: "Files was missing or corrupt" for the files in step #6.

Step #6 - "Corrupt or missing files":

1= regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll 2 = regsvr32.exe shdocvw.dll 3 = regsvr32.exe browseui.dll

4 = regsvr32.exe msxml.dll 5 = regsvr32.exe gpkcsp.dll 6 = regsvr32.exe sccbase.dll

7 = regsvr32.exe slbcsp.dll 8 = regsvr32.exe initpki.dll 9 = regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll

10 = regsvr32.exe wuaueng1.dll 11 = regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll 12 = regsvr32.exe wuweb.dll

13 = regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll 14 = regsvr32.exe muweb.dll

4 - Another "Microsoft Rep." remote with my computer and could not fix the "Windows Updater".

5 – In December 2015, Reinstalled "Windows XP" not connected to the internet followed by "Windows 7". I think that Microsoft has stopped "Windows Updater" to not work in Windows XP when connected to the internet, so I tried installation not connected to the internet. This is the problem. I have to follow “XP” disc with the "Upgrade disc of Windows 7". I should have bought a "Windows 7 Home Premium" OEM builder 32 bit disc and put a fresh new copy on my computer that did away with both discs. Also, the Microsoft Rep. agreed with that.

6 - Ran: "Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)" = sfc /scannow

and received this message: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

“Windows Updater” still will not work. Do not want to spend more money on a Builder disc or a new computer. This computer works fine - just slow.

  1. Can any one help with "step by step" on how to fix this problem? Microsoft Reps. could not figure it out. I wasted 2 months because of Microsoft error.

  2. I did a “clean installed” of “Windows 7 Home Premium Builder OEM” 32 bit on my other computer because I did not have “Windows XP” disc for it. Can I installed that disc on my computer and use the “Product Key” from the Windows 7 Home Premium Update disc? Will it work and past “Windows Activation” and “Certificate of Authenticity”. I went to a “Microsoft Store” and the Tech. Rep. said that Microsoft stop the “XP” which means that people who used an upgrade disc to “7” will also have the same problem as me when their system crash. But he said the “Product Key” from the “Upgrade disc” might work on an “OEM” installation.

  3. Should I choose the “Phone Activation” option and not key in the “Product Key” for activation?
