Windows Update

I had to upload a new windows update (WMI???) when I visited the window's
update web site. Now, the automatic update is forced on and cannot be turned
off. I always manually update my computer and do not wish to automatically
update it. How can I turn this off and go back to what I was doing before I
had to update my installer??
