Hi,
This has never happened to me but I just loaded Win7 Ultimate SP1 onto a laptop, activated it. I am unable to get any WU's at all !!!
I don't have extra languages, I tried the WU TroubleShooter (a few times now ), I tried stopping services: wuauserv, BITS, msiserver, etc ad then renaming C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.old and doing same to catroot2 in \windows\system32.
I did install IE11 and it appeared to install its own updates but beyond that I have been unable to run WU..
Baffling - can someone suggest good link about the hidden files in C:\ that make WU work ?
If anyone has any ideas thanks in advance
