Windows update keeps asking me to reinstall windows

HiI have a dell optiplex which freezes and hangs. My CPU is not on the list published by intel of affected CPU that have stability issues from the 13th and 14th gen.My CPU is i5 13500 and stepping is c0.But windows keep saying in updates to reinstall windows.I have had desktop shortcuts and icons disappear.Please advise.
