Windows update keep on getting disabled.

Hi, I can't seem to update my windows so I searched and searched on youtube about fixing it. I have tried so many procedures but nothing works. So what I did is I went to services and manually change the windows update to automatic, and pressed apply then restart. After that, it will go back to being disabled. I tried the other option where I change the number 4 value to 2 for it to be automatic. Nothing works, I don't want to reset my PC, I'm in the middle of online classes and I can't risk losing anything. Please help
