I recently went to Windows Update to check for any available updates.
While there, I clicked on the "history" button and the only updates showing
were the most recent ones of 7-10-2007. All the previous 2+ years on this PC
were gone ?? I went to the add/remove section of control panel and "all" of
the hostorical updates are showing.
I recently used "Easy Clean" to remove any "un" necessary entries in my
registry and also any "un" necessary files on my HD. The removed registry
entries go to an "undo" file, so they can be put back, but the "files" just
go to the recycle bin where I left them for over a month before removing them
as I did not notice any problems with my PC.
If the Update History indeed keys off a registry entry, can anyone tell me
the wording of that entry so I can restore it ? My system appears to be
running fine, but it would be nice to have all of that history back. Thanks
in advance.

Did you recently have occasion to delete C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution
<=this folder or its contents?

Thanks for the reply "Bear". I did a search and found the folder you
mentioned; it's dated 7-17-2005 and it has many sub directories in it. I
happened to look in the cache sub directory and it has a lot of entries; but
they are all in Hex. What am I looking for ??

Don't worry about it, then. (Deleting that folder and/or its contents can
have the affect of wiping the Installation History slate clean.)

But I'd suspect your use of EasyClean to be the culprit here; again, see
this discussion: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099
