Windows Update for Monthly Quality Rollup of 527Mb fails. Error Code 80010108 - Windows Update ran into a problem

My Windows 8.1 64-Bit based HP Notebook is configured to auto-update all Critical and Important updates. Today it has fond the update named "2020-08 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 8.1 for x-64 based systems (KB4571703)" which Windows Update process seems to try to download (though the no of Kb and % downloaded remain at 0), and after a few minutes shows the error stated above. Have restarted the laptop and tried but no luck.


Has anyone encountered this error ? Would appreciate any help to fix this. Thanks
