When I tried to update (some security updates and a Build upgrade from an older Windows 10 version to a newer), the progress bar was stuck at 0%. I waited for about 3 hours, putting the computer on sleep, but still no progress. I tried stopping Windows update through command prompt with the lines: net stop bits and net stop wuauserv but the wuauserv line failed saying that the service is stopping or starting, try again later. I tried renaming SoftwareDistribution folder, catroot2 folder and also of course restarting. I tried to stop wuauserv through Computer Management and disabling it and then restarting, but after every restart it keeps showing that the process is stopping. Now the Windows update says there was some problem installing updates with the error code (0x80080008). The troubleshooter says that it has fixed a problem with windows update but it hasn't. I also ran a batch file to re-register the components but it didn't work.
