I have been trying to install the following updates for quite some time now

and repeatedly get error code 646. The shutdown button in the start menu

always has the icon for install updates then shutdown. I have the computer

install and shutdown, then the same updates show available and the icon is

still there even after I have restarted the computer.

Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB973593) – 11/10/2009

Security Update for Microsoft Office Visio Viewer 2007 (KB973709) – 10/13/2009

Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB972581) – 10/13/2009

Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB973704) – 11/10/2009

Update for Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 (KB976416) – 12/85/2009

Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB977719) -

2/9/2010

Update for Microsoft Office Word 2007 (KB974561) – 1/12/2010

I am running 32-bit Vista Home Premium with SP2. I am using Office 2007

with SP2.

I have done the following from guidance in this forum with no luck. Control

Panel > Administrative Tools > Service and configured Office Source Engine to

automatic. I tried windows update again, no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas for solutions? Let me know if you need any for

information or clarification.

Much thanks.
