Note: Windows Update is not the only thing having trouble being successfully installed on my system, I'm also having difficulty installing/updating my display/graphics drivers, perhaps some hardware failure has occurred, how do I check and resolve this?

when trying to install "2018-08 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4345590)" It fails to install and gives me the error code 641. I also tried to seperately install "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 for Windows 7 for x64 (KB4054530)" with the same result Edit: I checked windows update history and noticed a lot of failures, more info in a seperate reply to this thread for convenience.

Repairing registries, I've used the registry edit feature before and am confident in using it to potentially fix this problem.
Clean installation of Direct X
Clean installation of .Net framework.
Clean installation of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistrebutable.
