Windows update error 0x8024400E

For the past couple of weeks, I've not been able to use Windows update. I
repeatedly get error 0x8024400E. I've tried the suggested solution on the
error page:

Refresh the page.
In Internet Explorer, delete your Temporary Internet Files by going to the
Tools menu and clicking Internet Options.
Close and then re-open Internet Explorer.

I can't find the error in the FAQ, in the "Find Solutions", nor hear.
Anyone have any ideas?
 
0x8024400E = The SOAP message could not be processed due to a server
error; resend later OR, The message was OK but server couldn't process
at the moment. Same message *may* succeed at a later time.

Is this issue showing up from Automatic Updates or from using IE and
accessing the Windows/Microsoft Update site ?

Please go to Start > Run > type in

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

Copy and paste the last 50 or so lines of the log into your next post.

I've also had trouble with the .netframework v2,0 security update

When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, or
2.0, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows

I'm doing this from IE accessing the update site.

There's a cookie issue going on -

Either there's an add-on being used by IE that is blocking cookies or
there's a 'bad' cookie in the cache.
With Internet Explorer closed, go to Internet Options in the Control Panel
It should open to the General page of Internet Properties
Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Settings button, then click
View Files
Click View and set it to Type files
All of the Cookies should now be grouped together
If you don't want to go through all of the Cookies or want to preserve
some, then suggest you move them out of here to a temporary folder
Otherwise, delete all Cookies and just forget about it

Click the Programs tab
Click the Manage Add-ons tab
Disable ALL of the Add-ons that do not show Microsoft as the Publisher
if there is NO cookie blocker installed
Close Internet Properties

If there is a cookie blocker installed then temporarily disable it for now
