I cant check for win. updates because it continuously runs without an end. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components
I tried this link to fix it but when I tried step 6 "regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll" It gives me error The MODULE "MSHTML.DLL" was loaded but the entry-point dllregisterserver was not found. make sure that "mshtml.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. I have a feeling this is my windows update problem but I don't know how to fix it please help.I got several .dll file errors, which ill list.
mshtml.dll
shdocvw.dll
browseui.dll
msxml.dll
gpkcsp.dll
sccbase.dll
slbcsp.dll
initpki.dll
wuaueng1.dll (i also have wuaueng.dll that does work, so i didn't know if this is a copy that just isnt needed yet or what.)
wucltui.dll
wuweb.dll
qmgr.dll
muweb.dll
I am having the same exact issue on another one of my laptops (different brand, year, size, users, OS's, everything) I haven't gotten as far as the dll files on that one though. Ive even talked on chat with Microsoft for 3 days in a row (one of those days i was in chat literally almost all day from the time they opened) for a separate issue that i didn't know was such big issue, however they would try to fix it and 1 succeeded however it stopped working again immediately after speaking to them. I have been through countless "fixes" online any where from changing the the update settings and restarting my comp to edit the registry components as mentioned earlier. also the troubleshooter and virtual agent cant figure it out either. virtual agent just gives up and asks me to ask a different question. I didn't know if i should post my CBS.log PLEASE HELP!
*Also should mention my windows standalone installer does the same thing.
