Windows Update crashed my internet access and wifi/ethernet devices

I am currently away from my house and cannot provide much detailed information, but here is what has happened. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad with Windows 11 Pro which was running great and regularly updated. A couple of weeks ago there was an update that caused that machine to not be able to connect to any of my home network shares. Under the network tab in File Explorer I could see all of my network devices, but clicking on them would not take me to the shares.
