Windows Update broke my sound. Then fixed it. Then broke it again - all within 24 hours. What is going on?

Windows Update broke my sound. Then fixed it. Then broke it again - all within 24 hours. What is going on? Initially the Bluetooth headphones worked so I used this instead when the TV sound failed, but now no sound works on Bluetooth and no sound via the hdmi cable either (but the picture to the TV is fine through this hdmi cable).The Latest Drivers are installed so the 2019 solution does not work. HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED PLEASE?
