Windows Update Broke my Laptop

Windows installed an update earlier this week, Jan 14th or 15th, on my Dell Inspiron that is not even 2 years old. Now my laptop freezes 2-3 minutes after startup. This doesn't give me enough time to do anything with it. How do I fix this?
