Just had to install Win 7 Pro SP1 (clean install) on a new HDD due to previous drive failure to boot. Windows update is continuously "Checking for Update" with none downloaded. I have run WindowsUpdateDiagnostic "FIXIT" tool and it says repaired, but no change.
Win 7 SP 1 x 64bit OS (purchased a few years ago from the MS store online and downloaded.
Kaspersky Internet Security 16 Antivirus (full scan, system is clean)
Manual update to IE11 and .NET 4.6
Old hdd was reformatted and maintained for storage (it is also clean) and only contains my first system backup.
Any ideas on how to get my updates working.
