Windows sometimes lags/freezes when playing slightly more intensive games like baldur's gate

I'm encountering an issue where my computer lags for maybe 3~ seconds when in a more intensive game. When it does this, my audio input device (hyperx quadcast) seems to disconnect from discord without playing the disconnect sound and discord doesn't detect any input audio until I go into the voice/video settings and re-select my microphone. This is a new computer with a fresh install of windows 11
