The company I work for currently has many Windows 2008 r2 (service pack 1) servers in service and multiple backup servers with Windows 2008 r2 as well. We are being told that if we do not activate the backup servers we have by January 31st, 2023, we will not be able to activate these servers at all. Suppose we activate these servers at least once before January 31st, 2023. Will we still be able to change the disk from the current server to the backup server without worrying about activation and licensing issues?
