When I use the start bar Search, it will only display the programs on the All Programs. It won't search the C drive for documents, like photos.
Ex. I have a document named EXAM.doc on the desktop
I type in EXAM.doc in the start menu Search bar, "No items match your search."
When I use the explorer search bar, it can search normally, but not in the Libraries, and displays "Your searches might be slow . . . . index is not running."
I checked the Indexing Options through the search bar (again, it can only search control panel, All programs, but not documents and files)
It said that "Indexing is not running." Everything except advanced is greyed out. When I go to Advanced and click on Rebuild, it does nothing.
I have tried these solutions, and so far none worked:
1) I have checked services.msc, Indexing was Automatic and Started, but Windows Search was Automatic and not starting. When I try to start it, it says "Windows Search service has started and then stopped... etc etc"
2) I have tried the regedit solution, the one where you change the "Setup etc etc" 's binary to 0. Did not work either.
3) Tried putting in the sfc/scannow in CMD, with full administrator privileges. The results showed nothing wrong.
4) I tried going to "Turn Windows features on/off", both Indexing Service and Windows Search Services had check marks.
