Windows Real-Time Protection Crashing Starfield on Startup

I recently built a new computer with a 12th gen i7 and an rx 7900xt. The processor and GPU are stable across the board for all other games and applications. After installing Starfield however, if I keep "Real-time protection" enabled in the "Virus and Threat Protection" settings, the game instantly crashes upon reach the main menu. I am unable to add Starfield.exe to any type of exception list in the firewall or threat protection as it says I do not have privileges to do so (some type of strict DMCA protection Xbox games installs on the files).
