windows pin lost in an endless loop

why does windows still have memory loss when it comes to setting a PIN?every time the system has an update the computer wipes the pin I have been looking for an answer to this but nothing is working.on some of the suggestions to reset the system components just sends you into an endless loopand turn off (ignore) is not present this happens on 3 of my 5 computer and it is getting tiresomeand looks like it has been a while if anyone knows please let me know thanks
