Surf the web much? That happens on various pages at various times.
Likely - you do have a problem specific to your computer, however. Likely
something that you allowed to be done to it (may have even requested) - not
necessarily your fault - but your involvement has to be there (or another
user.)
First off - try this (ignore the title...):
Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation

Do both methods, rebooting for good measure afterwards. Then visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ again and do a custom scan for updates
(you will likely be asked to install something before you get to that
point - do so.) If that doesn't work - come back and let us know more
information about your system. What AV software you utilize, etc.
