Windows Media Player not working with NVIDIA GPU

Hello, today I just learned that I can use my dedicated GPU (which is several orders of magnitude faster than the CPU for certain tasks (or the integrated Intel GPU for that matter)) for hardware acceleration in video applications.However, it works with VLC but not with Windows Media Player, the app freezes and doesn't show anything when not frozen, just the sliding bar.What is the problem, and can this be fixed at all?
