As of lately my pc has not been letting me transfer files to/from any external device, but I've tried everything I can think of atm and my results were as follows.
For the below examples I've tried transferring files both small and large (anywhere from a few KB to 1gb or so).
I've tried inserting a micro SD card into the card reader of my PC (it's not an external one or anything) and get the problem.
I've tried using a USB flash drive into the USB ports (tried all of the ones on my PC) and the same problem occurs.
I've tried plugging both my phone and my tablet into the USB ports (with the same micro SD cards as above in them) and transferring works then just fine.
SD card adapters aren't even getting recognized by the card reader even though the micro SD cards are.
Lastly I've tried a CD and that had the same problem as the micro SD card or the USB flash drive.
The problem being, as soon as I click and drag a file to/from anywhere to said devices, it will pretty much instantly give me the error of "Windows Explorer not responding" and the checking for solution and then restarting. I've even tried formatting the USB drive to a different file format and that was no use. This problem wasn't like this a few months ago and I assume that is is an effect from some Windows update but I have no idea which one it could be as I update regularly. If anyone has had this problem and managed to resolve it, I'd like to know how you did it.
