Windows explorer external flash drive usage not matching TreeSize. Chkdsk reveals indexes and system usage. What are they?

Hello,I understand that lots of questions already exist on this topic but they relate to C: drive and I felt mine is a bit different. I have a problem with my 1 TB exFAT drive instead. Windows Drive F: properties page shows that 58.5 GB is used. But TreeSize only shows 50.6 GB used. The difference is 8,876,982,272 bytes (63,216,549,888 bytes - 54,339,567,616 bytes). Running "chkdsk F:" in CMD revealed that this difference is accounted for in 8668160 KB by indexes and 768 KB by system, totaling to 8,876,982,272 when converted as 1KB = 1024 bytes.My question is what are the indexes and system?
