windows error 0x88982F05 The value is out of range

I'm trying to correct a "Date Taken" field in a JPG file by right clicking on the file then Properties->details. After I change the date, click on a "apply," I see windows: "error 0x88982F05 This value is out of range"The date of the photo I wish to enter is May 23, 1949Is that too old?How do I fix this?
