Windows doesn't show Enter Credentials dialog box when trying to connect to a dot1x enabled network

I am connected to a switch where imposes dot1x authentication.My PC is not joined to a domain so I enabled dot1 x, in Additional Settings, chose User Authentication, and in Settings, removed certificate request and Use my logon ... in configure.I expect to see a popup that asks me for credentials but it never happens and I cannot connect to network.What should I do?
