Windows doesn't recognise my SSD is NVMe

I have a Samsung 980 NVMe SSD and it has been working fine for a year. Today I used Xbox Game Bar to check if my system is DirectStorage compatible and it says that my drive isn't NVMe supported, even though it is an NVMe drive in a slot that supports an NVMe drive. My motherboard fully supports NVMe and yet in Windows settings, it says the bus type is SATA and not NVMe. In my bios it is aware that it is an NVMe drive and I have it configured to AHCI and not raid, yet it still doesn't recognise it properly. Any help would be appreciated
