"windows did not detect product key on this PC" when trying to activate

Hi guys I recently build my first gaming PC and I downloaded windows 11 on a USB from Microsoft website and after I install it I go try to activate it and it says under activation "product key not detected on this PC" I put in a product key in the setup and I need help.
