I'd better qualify; An Av scanning app is usually OK with Defender also.
The problem arrises if you try two AV apps, or two Trojan apps that are
configured to run on start up

The entire reason for Defender's very existence is to protect your
computer from the ravages of adware and spyware. Why do you want adware
running on your system?
