Windows Defender blocking .NET runtime optimization service as unable to verify publisher - Microsoft unable to verify Microsoft?!

This started happening after a Windows Update to the .NET framework, so cannot be shrugged off as malware.Please can someone at Microsoft confirm this is being investigated and that a bug fix will be issued via Windows Update in the near future?The repeated security alerts are very annoying, but I cannot simply ignore them in case of a real threat.Many thanksAl
